At the top of the Champs-Elysées, the Arc de Triomphe is
the most illustrious symbol of French national history. It is part
of the historic urban landscape of France and its national culture.
From the top there is an excellent view of all of Paris.

The
Eiffel Tower :
The most famous monument in the world, the Eiffel Tower, was built
by Gustave Eiffel in 1889 for the World Fair, where it was the
star attraction, in celebration of the French Revolution. It is
located on the Champ de Mars beside the River Seine. It is the
tallest structure in Paris and among the most recognized symbols
in the world.

Notre-Dame
de Paris :
Notre-Dame de Paris is a Gothic cathedral on the eastern half of
the Ile de la Cité in Paris. It is still used as a Roman
Catholic cathedral. Notre-Dame de Paris is widely considered one
of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture.

The
Basilica of the Sacred-Heart :
The Basilica of the Sacred-Heart is a Roman Catholic church and
a popular landmark in Paris. The Basilica is located at the summit
of the butte Montmartre, the highest point in the city, of which
it is the symbol. The top of the dome is open to tourists and
affords a spectacular panoramic view of Paris.

The
Invalides :
The Invalides consist of a complex of buildings in the 7th arrondissement
of Paris containing museums and monuments, all relating to France's
military history, as well as a hospital and a retirement home for
war veterans, the building's original purpose. It is also the burial
site for some of France's war heroes.

The
Panthéon :
The Panthéon is located in the Latin Quarter in Paris.
It now combines liturgical functions with its role as a famous
burial place. It is an early example of Neoclassicism, with a
façade modelled on the Pantheon in Rome, surmounted by a small
dome. The Panthéon looks out over all of Paris.
